Comments : Ok kids, here's the deal: In order to get to Cross and Resurrection Lutheran Church for Club Christ this Saturday (the 31st of May), you'll want to take I-94 East to State Street. Turn right on State and take that down to Ellsworth. Take Ellsworth to Varsity Drive, where you will turn right (Varsity is the first road you come to after turning onto Ellsworth). Take Varsity until you come to Highland Drive on your left (again, the first road that you come to) and take that until you come to a sign on your right that should say 'Cross and Resurrection' on it, as well as 'Iris Corp' and a few others. We are in that complex, in the furthest suite on the left, suite F. Woohoo. -Johannes

Comments : Abbie, Definetly not, Because despite the fact that it would be Tom playing it and that would make it somewhat cool, It isn't gonna cut it, T-Bones are by far the awesomest and that's just how it is, :-). Your killing me smalls.

Name : Abbie
Location : TERDBUCKET
Comments : A question for you, Kelsy. Would you say trumpet was not so cool as t-bone IF Tom played trumpet? Huh??

Name : Kelsay
Location : My home is the track, You Know that!

Your Killin me smalls! hahaha well, the T-bone and 2nd Guitar are by far the ballers of the band. Lucky Charms are the best, Hercules is the Best Disney Movie(haha tom), and Don't eat yellow snow!

Comments : Yeah, too much anti-photo journalism un-bashing (figured it out yet?). We're not really giving any props to T-bones here anyway, I say that the WEB DUDE UPSTAIRS! *subtle hint* should make a forum where we can express our thoughts on legos, and discuss the most recent webisode.

Location : the superfly
Comments : Hey what's with all this anti-photo journalism? A band is a team that's got to stick together and photo-journalists are a part of that team. We can't discredit the 300+ pictures they taken, but I do agree that we should put more of them up on the sites.

Comments : to those who refused to let it be known Dan Merz is in debt to a certain guitarist for his exsistence in"the band" but this guitarist is at a loss for DAN IS THE BEST TRUMPET IN THE WHOLE WORLD

Name : Mike BATESY
Location : Downtown Chinatown, my friend, then in the land of OZZ, but right now i'm in the land of honalee.
Comments : Well while all 'yall say the trupet and t-bone are great. All I should have to say is "Sousaphone, baby" that's the ticket Sheminith really needs to succeed. I mean what else could could bring the unique, but extremely repetitive sound of the infamous "um-pa,um-pa." But you guys are a hot group, and I mean HOT! all you need is a tuba player and you could be steamin'

Comments : I would also like to fulfill a promise and apologize on behalf of Dave Calhoun for any spelling errors that he made in his pervious post. If you haven't met Dave Calhoun, you should, and give him a spider-man handshake and tell him Dan sent ya.

Location : My own basement
Comments : I am going to give a paraphrased history of the band sheminith. The band now known as sheminith was not always known as sheminith. It all started back in 7th grade, approx. 1999 when I, Dan Buckley started playing guitar and a certain drummer named DAVE WILLIAMSON started playing drums. As God may have had it we mentioned our musical endeveours to each other and decided to start a band. The first member besides myself and Dave was Tom Desrochers. Tom originally joined the band to play piano, but after that fell through he decided to pick up a guitar, literally days after we had our first band meeting. Soon after this, the name "Sheminith" was chosen as from a list of random words from Psalms, to be the band's name. Other competing words included polbar, but Sheminith , which as far as we known is a 8-stringed lyre (a guitar-like instrument) that was used by David in Psalms 6 and 12, made it through several later years of criticism and ridicule to be the name of the later band. For several months afterwards we struggled in finding a bass player, but nothing worked out. Finally in the summer of 1999 we found Brian Taylor, who didn't know how to play bass, but after having him try it we decided he should sing vocals for us. This lasted for quite a few months after that. Over these few months a few practices were held, but the band did not yet have its first song. After a rocky few months the band looked like it was dead. Over this time Brian Taylor was lost and never seen again and Sheminith's short, unproductive lifespan was coming to a close. From the masses however, a new bassist, the rekindling flame of Sheminith emerged. Brian Wolfe purchased a Fender Squier P-Bass and joined sheminith. The band was looking up but far into freshman year a song had not yet emerged. Dave Calhoun, our first ever vocalist came to help solve that problem. In preperation for a Battle of the Bands sophmore year Dave Calhoun and Sheminith actually entered and learned a complete song by Thousand Foot Krutch. At this time Kevin Kerber, a famed guitar player joined Sheminith as its 3rd guitar. After sheminith withdrew from the battle of the bands that they had entered, kevin kerber, was also withdrawn. After such a crushing blow to the band's confidence practices slightened from their allready scarce amounts and the band was once again on the ropes. Enter Meap week, sophomore year. In a break before school started, Brian Wolfe and Alex Eber (who at the time was unemployed and desperately searching for a job as a vocalist.) Surprised Guitarist, Dan Buckley at his home. The three friends in a final effort to accomplish their long-fought battle to write a song. Took one Fender telcaster, some light distortion, Dan Buckley's Mom's Bass and the all the wit they could summon and wrote a song. This song that has come to be known as "The Cafeteria of Love" became Sheminith's first ever original song. In the same hour Sheminith also made another first, their first recording session. Using a small tape recorder, Brian, Alex, and Dan brought their newly made cassette demo to school. At the time they believed it to be a sufficient recording, you can still hear this song on a CD that was burned by Tom D. Soon after the success of their first song, Alex Eber was innaugurated into Sheminith, as the second vocalist. Soon after it was decided that Sheminith would become "Ska" and Dan Merz, famous trumpet player, attended his first practice with Sheminith. Soon after Dave Calhoun, due to a "power-trip" (In his own words) made the worst decision in his life, (only joking) and left Sheminith. To the dismay of Dan and the other members they watched him walk away, never to be seen again (Watch for Dave in "Return of the Dave" a Sheminith motion picture) But then the question arose, "What's a ska band without a trombonist?" Soon after an intense search was made. From noted musician Dan Roberts to Jacob Egeler many people were considered. But in the end a Highschool band dropout, Johannes Stauffer stepped up to the plate with his mighty trombone and completed the ensemble that was later to be called "Sheminith". This new band had its own problems, but in the year of the Junior, 2002-2003 the band having written two whole songs, decided to actually perform. Having entered the battle twice now, (the first time being the previously mentioned incident and the second time in their sophomore year which was not mentioned in before in this story) the band decided to enter an upcoming battle. Preperations were set, GT-3's (Expensive guitar synthesizers) were labeled and Sheminith drove into the parking lot at Copeland Auditorium with their newly "Custom-decaled" (Erasable Car markers) Sheminith Van. *Ed note: the van was actually owned by Dan Merz* The band then proceeded to play the songs that they had prepared. These included "Good Thing", "Every Move I make" and some other song that must have been really great. In the excitement of the event, the band was cut short of playing their hit "Cafteria of Love". This was soon remedied though in a charity concert held that december where Sheminith and other bands raised money for a local charity. The Band, having written more songs since their first performance at the battle of the bands, unveiled their new "Lord of the Rings" intro and several other songs including "Dan's Song" and a Five Iron Frenzy cover of "One Girl Army." In a small venue later the band performed at a local church's christmas party. It looked like the Charity concert had set things off for sheminith and a news reporter tried to hire Sheminith to write music for a movie. This fell through, but soon after the musical septet accquired the services of two photo-journalists, Emily V. and Megan C. These two refined photographers put their skills to work and are responsible for many of the shots that you find on the other sheminith website, at www.angelfire.com/music5/sheminith Sheminith went on to play at a club christ event at St. Luke's and recently participated in a Christian Battle of the Bands (also at Copeland). The band is now preparing to open for "More than Electric" on April 27th at the Dexter United Methodist Church off of Huron River Dr. Through all this exciting history God has really blessed us with a way to play music for him and have a lot of fun doing it. "In the Cafeteria, we need some love" Composed by: Dan Buckley, Alex Eber, Dave Calhoun
